It's been so cloudy and cold lately that Mom has not set foot out of the house. However, today was the exception. It was beautiful, bright, and sunny, and the temperature had warmed up outside.
I have two new dogs next door. a German Shepard/Husky mix by the name of Bracy, and a little black curly thing that barks at everything that moves. Mom bought me a shock collar so I would be more under control outside. I guess it works, as I don't bark at the two dogs next door, nor do I bark at passersby when they walk their dogs. However, Mom says I need to get under control inside, like I bark at every noise I hear on the outside. She says she needs her sleep. I can't help it if I hear when the neighbors let their dogs out at 5:30 in the morning. I just gotta bark and let them know I know they are out and about. It's a dog thing.
Mom put the working harness on me, and we went to a place called Sooner Fashion Mall after Mom had gotten some tacos at Taco Casa. We sat in the car for a few minutes, lots of people passed by, and I did not growl or bark at them, but just watched them. Mom was so proud of me. Normally, I bark my head off at anyone who walks by the car. We started at the end where Sears used to be, Mom said it was sad that a 125-year-old institution closed down because it couldn't change with the times, then we walked down to
Penney's. There was a piano recital going on, so Mom and I had a seat and listened for a bit until it was over. I was a good boy and didn't bark once. In fact, I thought the music was fun. I have heard the piano before, as we have one in the house where I live. The children who performed did a great job. Mom said there were a lot of empty storefronts in the mall, and she was surprised to see all the empty spots. A sign of the times, she said. The latest to fall, Payless Shoes...Then Mom and I walked back to the Sears end of the Mall and left.
The sun was starting to set.
So Mom put me in the car and off we raced to her favorite spot on Highway 9 to get a view of the setting sun. I got to see cows! Mom got on to me because I was barking at them. A cow is a cow; you have to bark at it. Being part cattle dog, it is in my blood.
We drove back home, and I got to go outside to be with my new friends for a bit before having to call it a day.

Mom here: Han is doing really well. He graduated from his Intermediate class and is getting ready for his advanced class in March. He definitely got the Great Pyrenees genes, even though he is 50% Blue Heeler. He is keeping me up at night, barking at every little noise he hears. His hearing is so acute. I am going to have to figure out a way to nip this in the bud, as I am extremely tired. Han and I have started a walking routine. It helps me to get out of the house, and I can walk in a controlled environment with people around. Win-win.
